    - Description -
Once upon a time, Lake Orion, located just 45 miles from Detroit, MI, with its interlocking lakes and waterways was a summer resort destination. Today it’s a year-round community but, that magical resort feeling lingers on at Paint Creek Country Club. The scenic creek that meanders through much of the golf course gives our private club its intriguing name and its serene water views. Paint Creek offers golfers the chance to play a challenging round in a woodland and water setting in this quiet nook of northern Oakland County. Players get to cross the creek again and again as they thread their way through thick stands of oak, maple and ash trees on our tranquil course.

The club, with its limited membership rolls, is the perfect place to enjoy a round of golf away from the pressures of city life, but it’s also a setting where members can swim in a sparkling new pool, play a game of tennis or lift weights in a fully equipped fitness center. Member families and their children are welcome here and can enjoy many social and recreational opportunities at their club.

Although it’s a private club, Paint Creek Country Club is available to the public for weddings and golf outings.

    The Course
Paint Creek is a picturesque and serene course with a variety of holes and terrain that keeps members coming back to test their skills again and again.

The course began life as a nine-hole, public-fee facility, but it was extensively remodeled and grew to 18 holes in the early 1990s in a remodeling supervised by local architect Don Childs. Since then, more interesting changes have transformed the course buildings and facilities.

Although Paint Creek is now a country club course, the rolling bentgrass fairways offer more diversity than the average traditional club course. There are new challenges every time members play. You can't memorize the order of clubs that you take out of your bag for each hole.

    - Yardage -
There are three sets of tees to accommodate various levels of players, but this is a fairly tight course so the slope and rating are on the high side: 6,476 yards from the blue (rating/slope 72.0/143); 5,845 from the white (rating/slope 68.6/130); 5,062 from the red (rating/slope 69.9/128).
